It’s the perfect time to check that your content is on the course for a successful 2024 wrap-up.

With the end of 2024 looming right around the corner, I see ambitious content-creating entrepreneurs and professionals going in one of two directions:

Some steer towards “The year is almost wrapped up, let’s think about this content business next year”.

And others hop on the “Oh, end of the year, let’s strategise and plan for the next one!”

The downside of both options?

You miss out on two perfectly good months to raise your profile, grow your audience and reap the results of your hard work!

Instead, I like to approach November as the perfect time to make a few quick fixes to help your great content reach more people before the end of the year.

This way, you still have time to set up that diamond-sharp strategy for next year, and grow even more!

1 – Update (or dust off) your performance tracking system

The old adage “What gets measured gets improved” is overused, sure, but it also applies to content performance. If you don’t track the results regularly and keep an eye on the right things, how can you expect your results to improve?

Dust off your performance tracking sheet, check your key metrics and fill in the figures from the last 1-3 months.

2 – Check your message still resonates

When was the last time you clarified your message? It doesn’t – and shouldn’t – change all the time, but as your business and career evolve and the world around you changes, your message needs a little refresh every now and then.

Guest expert, public speaking and vocal coach Helen von Dadelszen from PresentPotential guides you through a simple practice in her guest article. Since what works in speaking often works in writing, too!

3 – Iron out the client journey

Once your message is clear and you know how to measure its success, the question remains: Are the right people hearing your message and taking the next step? As I like to say: whatever your personal travel preferences are, a journey of working with you should feel more like stepping on a luxury cruise than battling monkeys in the middle of the jungle.

4 – Align your content and your persona

Your content shouldn’t only be effortless for your audience to consume, it should also be effortless for you to create. And that ease comes from creating content that’s aligned with your writer type.

5 – Review your content plan

Yes, we finally got to the strategising and planning part: an essential part of getting results through content is planning it strategically. This step-by-step guide takes you through planning your whole year:

P.S. Is this where you get stuck?

Now, one more question:

Do you think all these sound like good ideas – in theory – but you’re not sure you’ll implement any of the good tips above?

I feel you, and you’re not the only one!
